  • The printer displays a message when the amount of toner becomes low in your cartridge. Replacing the toner cartridge is also a solution for rectifying poor print quality.
  • To check the amount of toner, select the Status Monitor option on the operation panel.
  • Choose the Device information and then tap the Cartridge Information option.
  • Touch the Checking the amount remaining in the toner cartridge option. The printer will display an estimated amount of toner level.
  • Press the button provided on the side of the printer to remove the front cover.
  • Take the toner cartridge out from the inside of the printer.
  • Unwrap the new toner cartridge, and rock it several times to evenly distribute the toner in it.
  • Fix the toner into the printer and close the front cover.

  • The firmware for the Canon ImageCLASS LBP215dw printer can be updated from the printer.
  • Select the Update firmware option from the Home Screen option.
  • Accept the conditions of the license agreement and select OK. Once the update is complete, the printer restarts.

  • To clear the paper jam from a multipurpose tray, draw the multipurpose tray out, and gently pull out any paper in it.
  • Confirm that the paper jam is cleared in the tray.
  • Now pull out the paper drawer, and using both your hands, pull the paper out.
  • Open the toner cover and take out the toner cartridge.
  • Check for foreign objects and remove if any.
  • Turn on your Canon printer if it is powered off. Remove the USB cable and examine it.
  • Replace the cable if there are any damages. Insert the cable into the correct ports on your printer and computer.
  • Power cycle the printer and check if you can access it from your device.
  • If you have a Windows OS, click the Start menu and select the Devices and Printers option.
  • Right-click the printer’s icon and select the See what’s printing option.
  • In the screen that opens, click the Printer tab and select the Use Printer Offline option.
  • Close the window. The printer will be used offline.
  • Check if you can print. Continue with the steps below if the issue persists.
  • Make sure the printer is set as the default printing source.
  • Open the Printers folder and open the Devices and Printers folder.
  • Right-click the printer’s icon and select the Set as Default Printer option.
  • From the Apple menu, select the System Preferences option.
  • Choose the Print & Fax or Print & Scan option.
  • Select the printer on the left panel and set it as the Default Printer.
  • Open the Applications folder and select Utilities.
  • Give a double-click on the Printer Setup Utility icon. Select the Canon printer from the Printer List.
  • Now click the Make Default option on the toolbar.
  • Reinstall the printer driver and try updating the firmware. If the issue persists, proceed with the steps below.
  • Power off the printer and turn it on again. Remove the USB cable from your computer.
  • Click the Start menu on your Windows and select Control panel.
  • Select the Hardware and Sound section and click View devices and printers.
  • Right-click the Canon driver in the Printers & Faxes option and remove it.
  • After the driver uninstalls, restart your computer. Reinstall the most recent version of the driver from the manufacturer’s site.
  • You can also set the Windows update to install the printer driver.
  • If the issue persists, run the Printer troubleshooter.
  • Click the Start menu and select the troubleshooting option.
