Steps: Pixma MG6820 Driver Install

  • Go to the manufacturer’s site and search for the printer model.
  • Find the Get Support tab and select it.
  • Click the Drivers and Downloads option and then select the driver that best suits your printer and computer.
  • Click the Download tab against the driver and wait while the file downloads.
  • On Mac, the file downloads with the .dmg extension. If you have the Windows OS, the file downloads with the .exe extension.
  • You can also use the Driver Download button to get the driver in a single click.

  • Insert the setup disc into the computer’s hard drive.
  • If Autoplay is enabled, the installer starts automatically.
  • If the installer doesn’t start, double-click the setup CD icon on your computer to begin the installer.

  • When the License agreement screen displays, read the agreement and select Continue.

  • Ensure that the ink tanks are properly installed and the paper is loaded correctly into the printer.
  • Power off the printer and plug out the power cable from the rear port.
  • Remove the cord from the wall outlet as well.
  • Replug the cord properly into the outlet and printer. Try to print.
  • If the issue persists, check the connection between the printer and your computer.
  • Try deleting all the print jobs and then try to print.
  • If the printer doesn’t print, reinstall the printer driver.
  • Check and install any firmware update for the Canon Pixma MG6820 setup.
  • First, turn off the printer and unplug it from the wall outlet.
  • Raise the operation panel to reach the inside of the Canon Pixma MG6820 setup.
  • Check under the printhead holder and clear any jammed paper.
  • Draw the cassette out from the printer and remove any paper bits stuck in it.

  • Disable the firewall settings on your software and check if you can print now.
  • If the printer is not available, reset the printer, reconnect it to the router and computer, and try to print.
  • Service the printer if none of the above steps resolved the issue.
  • Open the cassette and ensure that the paper is loaded correctly. The print side of the paper should face down.
  • Remove any damaged sheets from the cassette.
  • Check the print settings. Ensure that the print quality, resolution, paper type, and size matches with your requirement.
  • Replace the ink tanks that are low on ink.
  • Print a nozzle check pattern to inspect if the printhead is able to eject the ink. If the pattern is not proper, run a printhead cleaning task from the Canon Pixma MG6820 setup.
  • If the issue occurs while copying, clean the platen glass using a lint-free cloth.
  • Go to the Maintenance menu on the control panel and select the Roller cleaning option.
  • Keep following the instructions on the screen to clean the rollers.
