  • Find the Get Support tab and select it.

  • Ensure that the printer is turned on. Load enough paper into the cassette.
  • Your iOS device and the printer should be connected to the same network.
  • Find the item that you want to print and select it. Tap the Operation icon and then choose the Print option.
  • Tap Printer Options and select Printer. Choose the printer model.
  • If you want to print on both sides of a page, select the Duplex Printing option.
  • Finally, tap Print. The printer will receive the print job and print it.
  • To print from a Mac, open the System Preferences window and select the Printers & Scanners option.
  • Select the printer list and then select the printer’s name with Bonjour Multifunction.
  • Click the Use menu, select the Secure AirPrint option, and choose Add.

  • Find the Home button on the control panel and press it.
  • Select the Setup menu and tap the Estimated Ink Levels option.
  • The ink level in each of the ink tanks will be displayed on the screen.
  • The ink level can also be determined with respect to the status of the ink lamps.
  • Go to the operation panel of the printer. Find the ink lamp that is flashing.
  • Replace the ink tank against which the ink lamp is flashing.
  • If the lamp is flashing slowly, it means that the ink in the tank is running low.
  • If the lamp flashes fast, it indicates that the tank is not installed correctly or out of ink.
  • If the lamp is not lit, the tank needs to be examined.
  • Another way of checking the ink status is by using the Canon IJ Status Monitor.

Replacing The Ink Tanks In Canon Pixma MG 6820 Printer

  • Power on your Canon printer and retract the front cover.
  • Raise the operation panel slightly and then open the paper output tray.
  • Wait for the printhead holder to move to the replacement position.
  • Find the ink tank with the lamp flashing fast. Release the ink tank by pushing the tab against it.
  • Remove the ink tank from the slot.
  • Unpack a new ink tank. Remove the orange tape and protective film completely.
  • Twist and remove the orange cap from the ink tank.
  • Insert the ink tank into the printhead. The front end of the ink tank should face the inside of the printer.
  • Press the replaced ink tank to fix it firmly into place. The lamp for the ink tank should light up now.
  • Close the operation panel. Tap OK if you see any message displayed on the screen.

  • Ensure that the ink tanks are properly installed and the paper is loaded correctly into the printer.
  • Power off the printer and plug out the power cable from the rear port.
  • Remove the cord from the wall outlet as well.
  • Replug the cord properly into the outlet and printer. Try to print.
  • If the issue persists, check the connection between the printer and your computer.
  • Try deleting all the print jobs and then try to print.
  • If the printer doesn’t print, reinstall the printer driver.
  • Check and install any firmware update for the printer.
  • First, turn off the printer and unplug it from the wall outlet.
  • Raise the operation panel to reach the inside of the printer.
  • Check under the printhead holder and clear any jammed paper.
  • Draw the cassette out from the printer and remove any paper bits stuck in it.
  • Do not load curled, wrinkled, or damaged paper into the cassette.
  • Make sure there are no paper bits or jammed paper in the output slot.
  • Check the ADF. If you have loaded any thick paper, remove it.
  • Open the transport unit, check for paper jam, and remove if any. If the issue remains unresolved, reset the printer and try to print.
  • Make sure the printer is turned on.
  • Check if the Wi-Fi icon is displayed on the screen. If the icon is not shown, touch the wireless icon on the upper-right corner to open the Change LAN window. Select Activate Wireless LAN.
  • Restart the router and reconnect the printer to it.
  • Remove any electronic gadgets that could block the communication between the printer and router.
  • If the issue remains unresolved, uninstall the printer driver and reinstall it.
  • Disable the firewall settings on your software and check if you can print now.
  • If the printer is not available, reset the printer, reconnect it to the router and computer, and try to print.
  • Service the printer if none of the above steps resolved the issue.
  • Open the cassette and ensure that the paper is loaded correctly. The print side of the paper should face down.
  • Remove any damaged sheets from the cassette.
  • Check the print settings. Ensure that the print quality, resolution, paper type, and size matches with your requirement.
  • Replace the ink tanks that are low on ink.
  • Print a nozzle check pattern to inspect if the printhead is able to eject the ink. If the pattern is not proper, run a printhead cleaning task from the printer.
  • If the issue occurs while copying, clean the platen glass using a lint-free cloth.
  • Go to the Maintenance menu on the control panel and select the Roller cleaning option.
  • Keep following the instructions on the screen to clean the rollers.
