Common issues that a printer encounters during printing can be resolved without the need for the intervention of a technician. Some of the printer issues and the instructions for fixing them are provided below.

  • If your printer encounters any printing issue, then read the below points to troubleshoot them.
  • Check if your Canon Pixma iX6770 printer’s power cord is correctly plugged into the power source.
  • Push the On/Off button on the front side of the printer to turn on the printer. When the On/Off LED light starts flashing, the printer starts initializing.
  • Wait until the On/Off LED light stops flashing and turns solid.
  • Check whether the USB cable is plugged into the printer and computer.
  • If the USB cable is not connected correctly or not working, then change the USB and connect it firmly between the printer and computer.
  • Check if any additional print jobs are processed or stay in a queue. If you find anything like that, delete or cancel those print jobs.
  • Make sure that you have chosen the appropriate printer name in the Print Dialog box.
  • Ascertain that you have plugged in the USB cable into the appropriate printer port. Configure the Canon Pixma IX6770 setup port properly.
  • If your print data size is enormous, then enable the Prevention of Print Data Loss option. Note: When the Prevention of Print Data Loss option is enabled, the quality of your print may reduce.
  • If the issue is unresolved even after you have tried all the above steps, restart the computer and check if the issue has resolved.
  • Enough sheets of paper need to be loaded into the input paper holder.
  • Do not exceed the paper limit while loading paper into the input paper holder.
  • Do not load too thick or curled paper into the input tray.
  • Ascertain that you have loaded paper in portrait orientation. In case the A3 or A4 paper, envelopes, and photo papers are loaded in the landscape orientation. This results in the paper not feeding properly.
  • Change all the printer settings properly.
  • Choose the appropriate size of paper (A3, A4, envelopes, etc.) based on what you are loading in the input paper holder.
  • Make sure there are no foreign objects found inside the rear input tray.
  • Check whether the paper feed roller functions properly. If any foreign objects found in the paper feed roller or path of printhead holder, then clean it with a lint free cloth.
  • Inspect the area for paper jams that have occurred on your Canon Pixma IX6770 setup. Remove them properly without causing any damage to the printer parts.
