  • Open the front cover of the printer.
  • Open the paper output cover present inside.
  • When the cartridge holder comes to its position, the cartridge cover will open automatically.
  • Push down the lock on the ink cartridge.
  • Gently pull out the FINE ink cartridge from the slot.
  • Make sure you have the protective tape removed from the FINE ink cartridge.
  • Place the cartridge into the slot and raise the lock until you hear the click sound.
  • Perform the same set of steps for the other FINE ink cartridge.
  • Now, see if the error code 5100 has been cleared.


  • Make sure the Canon MG3620 printer is turned on.
  • Press and hold the  Stop button on the control panel.
  • Release the  Stop button when you see the Alarm light flash twice.
  • The print head cleaning will begin.

  • Load some sheets in the paper input tray.
