    METHOD 1: CHECK THE FINE INK CARTRIDGES

  • Open the front cover of the printer.
  • Open the paper output cover present inside.
  • When the cartridge holder comes to its position, the cartridge cover will open automatically.
  • Push down the lock on the ink cartridge.
  • Gently pull out the FINE ink cartridge from the slot.
  • Make sure you have the protective tape removed from the FINE ink cartridge.
  • Place the cartridge into the slot and raise the lock until you hear the click sound.
  • Perform the same set of steps for the other FINE ink cartridge.
  • Now, see if the error code 5100 has been cleared.

    METHOD 2: CLEAN THE PRINT HEAD

  • Make sure the Canon MG3620 printer is turned on.
  • Press and hold the  Stop button on the control panel.
  • Release the  Stop button when you see the Alarm light flash twice.
  • The print head cleaning will begin.
  • Do not perform any other operations when the cleaning is going on and the process will take 2-3 minutes to complete.
  • To check the ink cartridges, perform an ink nozzle check.
  • Load some sheets in the paper input tray.
  • Press and hold on to the  Stop button.

  • Cancel any current print job.
  • Turn off the printer.
  • Open the front cover of the printer.
  • Open the paper output cover.

  • Make sure to check the FINE ink cartridges are installed properly.
  • Close the paper output cover and the front cover of the printer.

METHOD 4: POWER RESET THE PRINTER

  • Make sure the printer is turned on.
  • Remove the power cord from the printer and from the main power source.
  • Make sure to wait for at least 3 minutes and then you can connect the power cord back to the main power source and to the back of the printer.
