CANON G7000 UNBOXING SETUP

When it comes to unboxing, you need to look at the Hardware and Software setup.

CONTENTS IN THE BOX:

  • The Canon G7000 printer
  • Photo paper sample pack
  • Setup CD, manual, and other documentation
  • Ink bottles
  • Print head (Black, Tri-color)
  • Power cord
  • Telephone cord

SOFTWARE SETUP:

  • Place the installation CD into the CD/DVD drive.
  • Wait for the computer to run the CD and the setup screen to open.
  • Follow the on-screen commands or instructions and proceed with the following steps.
  • When the connection screen appears, you will be asked to select the type of connection you want for the printer.
  • Select the option of your choice and complete the setup.

HARDWARE SETUP:

  • Take out the Canon G7000 printer from the carton.
  • Remove the protective tapes surrounding the printer body.
  • Lift the scanner unit and dispose of the protective material that is inside.
  • Open the print head locking cover present inside.
  • Unpack the print heads from the carton and place them aside.
  • Take the print head and remove the protective tape from the bottom.
  • Place the print head into its respective color slot.
  • Repeat the same step for the other print head.
  • Close the cartridge lock cover, so it holds it in position.
  • Open the ink tank cover on the left side of the printer.
  • Unscrew the ink bottle and keep the lid aside.
  • Align the bottle nozzle according to the inlet.
  • Slowly fill the ink tank until it reaches the top ink level.
  • Gently remove the ink bottle from the inlet, close the bottle, and keep it aside.
  • Close the ink tank cover.
  • Repeat the steps for the other ink tanks as well.
  • Once the installation is complete, lower the scanner unit.
  • Remove the power cord from the carton.
  • Connect the main plug to the power source and the rear end of the printer.
  • Lift the control panel and press the ON button.
  • Use the navigation buttons on the control panel and select the language.

It is now time to conclude the unboxing setup with the software setup.

  • Press OK once the selection is made.
  • Remove the cassette from the printer.
  • Move the paper guides in the cassette and then place a paper stack into it.
  • Bring the guides to the sides of the paper, and push the cassette into the Canon printer.
  • The hardware setup is complete.

  • The license agreement page will now open. Click Yes to agree to the terms & conditions.
  • The printer installation will now prompt you to select one of the three options:
  • Manual Setup
  • Wireless Setup
  • USB connection
  • Click the Wireless Setup option and click the Next button.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions and finish installing the driver for the Canon G7000 printer.

CANON G7000 WIFI SETUP

  • Ensure that the printer is turned on.
  • Make sure that the printer is within the proximity range of the wireless router.
  • Press and hold on to the Wireless Connect button on the control panel.
  • Within the next couple of minutes, press the WPS button on the router.
  • Now, the printer and the router will try to secure the connection.
  • The Canon G7000 printer will be connected to the wireless network easily.

CANON G7000 SCAN TO COMPUTER

  • Download the Canon IJ Scan Utility from the official Canon support page.
  • Make sure that the printer is turned on.
  • Place the document on the scanner glass.
  • Open the Canon IJ Scan Utility on your computer.
  • Click the Product Name drop-down list.
  • Select the Canon G7000 printer.
  • Click the Auto button.
  • Click Settings… to make changes to your scan based on your preferences.
  • The scanning will start automatically to your computer.

CANON G7000 PRINTER NOT RESPONDING

If the Canon G7000 printer is not responding, the printer should be offline. When it comes to printers going offline, there are different methods that can resolve the issue. Here are two methods that can come in handy.

FIX 1: RESTART PRINT SPOOLER SERVICE

  • Open the Run command (Windows key + R).
  • Type services.msc in the Run command field and press the Enter button.
  • The Windows Services window will now open.
  • Locate the Print Spooler service.
  • Double-click and select the General tab.
  • Under Service Status, click the Start button.

FIX 2: DISABLE THE' USE PRINTER OFFLINE' OPTION

  • Open the Control Panel window.
  • Select Devices and Printers.
  • Select the Canon printer from the printer(s) list.
  • Perform a right-click and select See what's printing.
  • Click the Printer tab.
  • If you see a checkmark next to the option Use Printer Offline, click to uncheck, and the printer will not be offline anymore.
